Ask yourself this...
As you look at the five languages ask yourself:
• Which of the five languages makes me feel truly appreciated?
• Which of the five languages makes my team members feel really special?
• How can I use these languages to make my fellow team members feel appreciated or to reaffirm the behaviours I DO want from them?
• How could I recognise someone’s fantastic contribution (and encourage them to do it again) by indirect affirmation (telling others about the great work that person has done)?
• How would spending some quality face-to-face time with one of the team encourage them to want to perform better?
• If I do something that people would not usually expect from me, how might they improve and do things that I don’t currently expect from them?

Something to ponder
‘There's no substitute for personal contact ... people want to be recognised as people.’
